Be Excellent

We all want to be known for being good at something. Some of us were good students, some athletes, some both. Many folks are gifted with musical ability while a lot of us can’t carry a tune in a bucket. There are people incredibly creative with wood, or words, or art. Some can tear down an engine and put it back together, or cook a delicious meal for everyone to enjoy. We all have within us the desire to be excellent.

As the apostle Paul writes to the church in Corinth, he acknowledges what they believe to be their strengths—and encourages them to press further in another area: Since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you—see that you also excel in this grace of giving. (2 Corinthians 8:7, NIV)

For six weeks we will explore how—with the Lord’s help—we can abound in each of these areas, and how we can give of ourselves and Be Excellent!

At BCC we try to live out our conviction that God gifts the church with a diversity of leaders and teachers. Therefore, for the past few years, we have utilized a teaching team consisting of 4-5 individuals. For more on our teaching team, click this link.
