OUR SPEAKING TEAM: We believe everyone has been given different talents. Some are leaders, others are shepherds, even others are entrepreneurs. We shouldn’t just highlight those abilities but give space for them to be shared in the church – which is why we don’t have only one speaker, but many whom God has given a gift of teaching.

Meet Our Teaching Team

We have a group of teachers that is made up of both vocational pastors (staff members) and lay leaders (non-staff members). Being on the journey together means that, when we have teachers among us, we encourage and help them to share what God is teaching them with the rest of our church. Here are our teachers:

Ted Gatlin

Ted Gatlin is a husband, dad, and a simple guy originally from Arkansas. He retired from the US Air Force, and he and his family decided to make Beavercreek their long-term home. He found his way back onto the base as a civilian program manager shaping the future budget of the Air Force. He loves to ride his bike, watch movies/sports, and play with the kids. Just in case you didn’t notice, He’s married to a great Children’s Pastor named Kristi.

Ed Green

Ed and his wife Sally moved here from central Illinois in late 2017 to serve with us. They are “empty nesters” with two young adult children. Their son Samuel and his wife Mykenzie serve with a church in Clinton, Illinois, and their daughter Anna currently lives and works in Joplin, Missouri. As one of our senior staff Ed coordinates our teaching and training opportunities for adults, as well as overseeing ministries that help provide care and nurture for folks who call BCC “home.” His spiritual gifts are teaching and serving, and for those who care about such things, he is a Nine on the enneagram. Ed loves to be outside, fish, and hike, but he also tends to be kind of a sci-fi nerd. He has an almost insatiable sweet tooth and Double-Stuffed Oreos are his kryptonite.

Stew Sheckler

Stew has been a pastor 1993 and worked with BCC since 2013. He’s usually pretty cool, that is when he's not nerding out over comic books or some weird Lord of the rings reference that no one gets. He is honored to be married to to his wife Dawn and has two unique daughters, you might see them around. Abbi is a Freshmen at Bellbrook High School and Madison comes home some times from University of Cincinnati where she's studying psychology. Stew is our resident coach. His heart is to see people discipled like Jesus discipled his first followers. That isn’t always an easy task so when you need a hand or someone just to encourage you in what God is doing through you, Stew will try be there to help you out. If you ever need to reach Stew for coaching or to see a Superhero movie or anything football related or especially to watch a UK basketball game feel free to text or call (he prefers texts) 937-430-9777 or stew@beavercreekchristian.org
