Don’t go through it alone. Find help and healing for the hurt of separation and divorce!
What is DivorceCare? DivorceCare is a biblical, Christ-centered support group ministry. It’s a lay-led group of friendly, caring people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. Seminars and support groups are led by people who understand what you are going through and want to help. You will learn how to heal from the deep hurt of divorce and discover hope for your future. DivorceCare is a safe environment to talk with others who have experienced or are experiencing a similar situation.
When is it? We are planning to start our first DivorceCare support group on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at 7:00 pm. Sessions will be held at the church every Wednesday evening for 13 weeks, and child care will be provided. This first DivorceCare program will be limited to a maximum of 25 people total. Workbooks and other materials will be provided.
Who can attend? Anyone going through separation or divorce, or who has gone through separation or divorce, who wants an empathetic support group to process their healing. This is open to the community, and not just to BCC attendees.
How do the sessions work? First we will pray together, introduce ourselves, and go over the guidelines. Each week we will watch a video prepared specifically for these sessions, covering issues like emotional healing, anger, forgiveness, loneliness, parenting, finances, and new relationships. Then we’ll break into smaller groups for discussion. There are some workbook exercises as well.
Can I join later on? For continuity, try to join the group at the beginning of the program, and make a commitment to attend as many sessions as possible. Another 13-week program will be planned for the fall of 2018.
